Company History
Jay Industries of Mansfield, Ohio, has long been known for innovative approaches to solving business problems. When this forward-thinking automotive parts supplier ran into quality control problems with shipments to their Tier I customers in Mexico, they attempted to solve the problems via the "regular" channels. They employed a Mexican firm, and sent their own representatives down periodically. But that didn't achieve satisfactory results. Rejected parts per million (RPPM) didn't appreciably decrease, and the relationship between Jay Industries and the Mexican Tier I plants got worse instead of better.
Finally, Jay Industries hit on an idea that worked. By developing their own local consultant firm whose job was to control the sorting of Jay Industries' shipments and reworking of damaged merchandise to avoid rejection of entire shipments, they were successful in reducing parts replacement and rework, increasing their Supplier Score Card marks across the board and, most importantly, bringing down barriers to get both companies working toward the same goals. Bottom line impact: they conservatively increased profits 1/2% of sales the first year alone.
Industrial Workforce - A Working Solution.
From Jay Industries' successful tactics in building Mexican-American working relationships came the idea for Industrial Workforce, Inc. A privately held company started by some of Jay Industries' key players, Industrial Workforce is independently owned and operated, with joint Mexican and American ownership. Incorporated in Mexico in February 2002, Industrial Workforce has been able to forge Mexican-American bonds that have helped several American and European companies build relationships with their Mexican customers, identify and resolve shipment problems, and work together to find cost-effective solutions.
Today, Industrial Workforce represents many Tier I & II suppliers shipping parts to several US and Mexican plants. Our working solutions help customers reduce RPPM, increase Supplier Score Card percentages and save on the bottom line.
